“Our current university-enterprise cooperation focuses on tackling key issues such as the optimization of DCS operation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis, aiming to achieve technological breakthroughs. Once these breakthroughs are achieved, the system stability and production efficiency will be further enhanced, generating significant economic and safety value…” On December 12th, Professor Chen Chao, Professor Zeng Sheng, and Dr. Zhou from Sichuan Light Chemical University, following the agreement reached with the enterprise in late November, went deep into Sichuan Wounai Xi New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly promote the “Introducing Talents to Assist Enterprises” project and ensure its implementation.
According to the data, Wounai Xi New Materials, established in 2017, is a national-level high-tech enterprise with a production capacity of 6,000 tons/year of high-purity rare earth salts and 3,000 tons/year of high-grade polishing powder. Its main products include ammonium cerium nitrate, high-purity carbonate cerium, polishing powder, etc., which are mainly used in mobile phone panel polishing, circuit board etching, pharmaceutical intermediates, aerospace high-temperature materials, etc. In the previous “Introducing Talents to Assist Enterprises” activities organized by the Shaanbei District Federation of Trade Unions, the company actively connected with experts and professors from relevant universities, combined with the actual needs of the enterprise, and continuously deepened and strengthened the interaction and cooperation with Sichuan Light Chemical University. In 2025 alone, the two sides jointly solved two projects: the preparation process of large specific surface area lanthanum hydroxide and the preparation process of high-purity fine-grained yttrium chloride. These achievements have played a significant role in enabling the company to enter the high-end fluorescent powder, laser materials and other supply chains, and enhancing brand influence and comprehensive competitiveness. The conservative estimate of economic value generated is over 60 million yuan.
During this university visit, both parties focused on对接ing the specific application scenarios， existing infrastructure and upgrade goals of the enterprise’s “Intelligent Transformation and Digitalization” project. After in-depth diagnosis and analysis， they will discuss and form customized solutions and implementation paths. At the same time， both the university and the enterprise jointly discussed talent recruitment and cultivation. Regarding the introduction and training of high-level operation and maintenance technical talents for the enterprise’s DCS system， the expert team from Sichuan Light Chemical University proposed a “two-way pursuit” cooperation model where enterprise technicians receive short-term training at the university and experts from the university provide on-site guidance. This will provide a solid talent guarantee for the project’s implementation and long-term operation.
It is known that since the first pilot “Introducing Talents to Assist Enterprises” activity in Shaanbei District in 2023， the Shaanbei District Federation of Trade Unions has vigorously promoted the alliance between enterprises and universities， established a support， reliance， common development， and mutually beneficial cooperation platform for university-enterprise cooperation， through deep integration and collaborative innovation in research， manufacturing， resources， and talent cultivation， promoting the achievement of over 100 university-enterprise and university-local cooperation results， generating economic value of 235 million yuan. In the “Introducing Talents to Assist Enterprises” demonstration activity and the “Labor Model and Craftsman Assisting Enterprises” digitalization application special action jointly hosted by the China Education， Culture， Science， Health， and Sports Workers’ Union in May 2025， Shaanbei District was the only on-site location， presenting the achievements and results obtained in the “Introducing Talents to Assist Enterprises” activities in recent years.
