Scientific and technological innovation is driving rare earth new materials toward high-end applications.

From October 23 to 26, 2026, the 2026 Annual Academic Conference of the China Rare Earth Society was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. This year’s conference featured 28 thematic sub-forums focusing on green and efficient mining, beneficiation and metallurgy, high-end rare earth new materials, AI-enabled rare earth applications, and other areas, with more than 2,000 delegates in attendance. The concurrent Rare Earth New Materials and Instrumentation Exhibition also provided a platform for upstream and downstream connections across the industrial chain.

Judging from the conference topics, industry attention is increasingly shifting toward the materials and application ends of the value chain. The sub-forum on rare earth polishing materials focused on precursor synthesis, polishing slurry formulation, chip polishing, and other processes; the sub-forum on rare earth catalysis highlighted the applications of cerium-based materials in environmental catalysis and energy catalysis. Downstream applications such as chips, precision optics, and automotive exhaust purification have imposed higher requirements on the particle size distribution and batch consistency of polishing powders, as well as the oxygen storage and release capacity of catalytic materials, thereby compelling rare earth companies to strengthen process precision and quality stability.

This aligns well with the product direction of Sichuan Wonaixi Rare Earth New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. The company’s cerium nitrate and ammonium cerium nitrate are important precursors for cerium-based polishing and catalytic materials. Its electronic-grade products can achieve a rare earth purity of 99.999%, with non-rare earth impurities controlled at the ppb level, helping to reduce the impact of chloride ions, alkali metals, and other impurities on catalyst lifespan and polishing performance. In catalysis, cerium nitrate, cerium hydroxide, and ammonium cerium nitrate are widely used in industrial exhaust denitrification and three-way automotive catalysts, while lanthanum nitrate can also serve as a precursor for lanthanum-modified alumina supports to improve the thermal stability of three-way catalysts.

Going forward, Wonaixi Rare Earth will continue to track technological advances in applications such as polishing and catalysis, refine and strengthen precursor purity control, impurity management, and batch stability, and enhance exchanges and cooperation with upstream and downstream enterprises and research institutions, so as to provide stable and reliable rare earth material products to customers at home and abroad.
