Phosphate binders in the pharmaceutical field: In the pharmaceutical field, high-purity lanthanum carbonate is used as a phosphate binder (drug name such as Fosrenol), for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia in patients with chronic renal failure. Electronic and optical materials: High-purity lanthanum carbonate is used as a dopant to manufacture multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), which are optimized for their electrical properties by reducing the Curie temperature of the barium titanate matrix.
